Ingredient List
The Steak
120g sirloin steak or fillet.
1 tbsp butter - melted
1 garlic clove, minced
Sea salt
The Mushroom
120g white mushroom, sliced.
1 tbsp butter - melted
1 garlic clove, minced.
Sea Salt
Side
1/2 avocado (80g) sliced.
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Salt & pepper to taste
Preparation Steps
Make sure the steak reaches room temperature and dry, use a paper towel to dry it.
In a small bowl, combine the butter and garlic (for the steak) and spread half of it all over one side of the steak. Sprinkle with salt.
heat your grill or the pan to high heat, wait for it to smoke.
Place the steak on it, butter side down and cook for 4 - 5 minutes, until charred (Doneness rare)
Medium rare: Cook anotherĀ 3 to 5 minutes (an inside temperature of 55 degrees)
Medium: Cook another 5 to 7 minutes for medium (60 degrees)
Medium Well: 8 to 10 minutes (65 degrees)
This is based off a steak that is around 3.5cm thick. It may be more or less depending how thick yours is!
Rub the remaining butter mixture all over the top side, flip and cook until desired doneness. Remove from heat, cover and let rest while you cook the the mushrooms.
Combine the mushrooms, melted butter, garlic and a pinch of salt in a bowl and then add them to the pan and stir fry them until golden.
Add lemon juice, salt, and pepper to the avocado slices.
Serve the mushroom over the steak and the avocado slices as side dish.
